HYATT TSQ Time Square, New York City

Each concept pulls from an different era, layering time and cultures. Mixing the essence of Beat Poet Library with 1960 Italian apertivio culture, the common thread lays in the universal social concept of exchange. People gathering under one roof of an inspiring host partially to amuse one another and partially to refine their knowledge and tastes through conversation. Layering materials from disparate origins forms a wealth of texture, color, and relationships for the customers to experience. This guarantees the approach reaches well beyond simply installing finishes

The existing bar and restaurant was not meeting the projected sales goals for the space. We were brought on to updated the look and feel in order to attract more customers and ultimately help them be more efficient in their business operations. With a very limited all in budget and the requirement to use union contractors, we approached it simply as an install job.  All millwork work and finishes were fabricated in our Red Hook shop, using union labor strictly for installation.  As project manager and lead designer, I lead the project from concept thru construction.  I worked both in our shop and on site to ensure the concept was carried out and realize in the final product.
